Technical FAQ
Detailed answers regarding botanical identification, active ingredient standardization, lab testing parameters, and global B2B regulatory compliance.
Testing & Identification
We employ a strict multi-tier verification protocol for every inbound harvest. Primary authentication is conducted using High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) to verify the unique chemical fingerprint of each plant species against verified reference standards. For high-risk botanicals, we also utilize DNA Barcoding (molecular marker analysis) to confirm the exact species identity at the genomic level, preventing species substitution or dilution.
Active compound concentrations and phytochemical markers are quantified using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) or Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) coupled with mass spectrometry. For example, our KSM-66® Ashwagandha is analyzed via HPLC to guarantee a minimum concentration of 5% withanolides, and our Turmeric extract is standardized to 95% Curcuminoids. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) is utilized to evaluate volatile compound percentages in our essential oils.
Every batch of raw ingredients undergoes heavy metal analysis using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), testing for Lead, Cadmium, Arsenic, and Mercury to parts-per-billion (ppb) limits. Pesticide residues are screened using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS, covering over 450 compounds. Additionally, we run comprehensive USP/AOAC microbiological assays to ensure absolute safety from mold, yeast, E. coli, Salmonella, and other pathogens.
Extraction & Standardization
Whole herb powder is simply dried plant material ground into a fine powder, containing natural botanical variations that fluctuate based on soil, weather, and harvest season. Standardized extracts are concentrated preparations where active phyto-compounds are extracted and adjusted to a precise, guaranteed percentage (e.g., standardized to 95% Curcuminoids). For clinical efficacy and B2B product consistency, standardized extracts are highly recommended.
We utilize three core extraction technologies depending on compound heat sensitivity: Supercritical CO2 Extraction (solvent-free, low temperature, ideal for volatile essential oils and lipid-soluble fractions); Hydro-Ethanolic Extraction (custom ratios of water and food-grade ethanol to yield full-spectrum extracts with both polar and non-polar active compounds); and mechanical Cold-Pressing (strictly kept under 45°C to preserve unrefined antioxidants in carrier oils).
Compliance & Documentation
Yes. All processing, extraction, and packaging facilities are certified under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) by third-party auditors NSF International and SGS. We strictly comply with FDA regulations 21 CFR Part 111 (Dietary Supplements) and 21 CFR Part 117 (FSMA Food Safety).
Every shipment is accompanied by a full technical documentation pack to streamline your QA/QC intake. This includes: a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (CoA) showing physical, chemical, and microbiological test results; a Technical Data Sheet (TDS); a Safety Data Sheet (SDS); and certificate copies for Non-GMO, Organic, Kosher, or Halal designations where applicable.
